I am still gradually working my way through a massive brick-like book containing all of Emily Dickinson’s 1,700+ poems, and while they are all beautiful and very expressive, every once in a while I’ll come across one that really catches my eye. This particular selection has been languishing in my commonplace book for a while now, and I thought I’d finally get around to posting it today. It’s not super profound or thought provoking; it’s just an interesting little word picture that made me smile.
On my reading list this week:
- Les Miserables by Victor Hugo: Another large, brick-like book which I am slowly working my way through. I’m actually listening to it on audiobook, but sometimes I’ll follow along a bit in our fat paperback copy.
- Pat of Silver Bush by L. M. Montgomery
- Christy by Catherine Marshall
- Real Artists Don’t Starve by Jeff Goins (check out last week’s Wednesday with Words for a quote from this awesome book!)

It looks like you have a lot of good books going. Jim recently read 40 Autumns which he said was really good. I hope to read it sometime this year. Right now I’m reading Pilgrim’s Progress and a book about the Wright Brothers. They were inventive children!

I just looked up Fourty Autumns, and it looks really interesting! Maybe when I’m done all the other books I’m working on I’ll have to check it out… Thanks for the recommendation!
